Austin Sharpen Bio

Austin Sharpen, 22, is an advertising major minoring in sociology at Texas State University in San Marcos.

Born in The Woodlands, Texas, Austin Sharpen grew up hunting and fishing in his free time, yet his business side began to shine through early on. At the age of fourteen, Austin established his very first business, offering landscape services to those in his community. With his strong work ethic, Austin was able to save up half the money towards his first car. Austin also had experience managing analytical data for Buffalo Wild Wings as a guest experience coordinator.

Nowadays, Austin is an advertising major at Texas State University with a minor in sociology. Initially beginning his freshman year at Texas A&M University with a major in pre-dental, Austin began to acknowledge his love for business and took the next step in transferring to Texas State University. After finishing with his studies, Austin aspires to be a successful pharmaceutical salesman.


Austin is currently juggling a busy schedule. He is highly focused on his studies, enjoys volunteering for CoolCats to benefit kids with special needs, and travels back and forth to Houston and California to visit family multiple times throughout the year. His time management skills enable Austin to succeed in all of these areas and emphasize his ability to succeed in his future endeavors.

Ammon Ockletree Bio

About 
Ammon is a Senior non-traditional, transfer student, a full-time student enrolled in Texas State University school of Mass communication and journalism.

While he's just now transferring into the Mass Communications Program Ammon is no stranger to the college world. To illustrate, shortly after high school Ammon spent near 4 years at a city college before transferring and spending a year in the beautiful San Marcos,TX.  However, it was the time Ammon spent before getting to Texas State that were most influential.
To illustrate, during his time at Mclennan College he was a longtime member in the Trio Organization.
While serving in the Trio Organization, Ammon was known for being a eager to learn student. Soon being acknowledged for few for Trio scholarship nominee.
Next to Ammon's trio credentials, he's a near 3 year alumni from Mclennan Community College.

Hobbies 
In his time that's free Ammon has a passion to read books, listen to jazz and classic style music, shoot basketball, converse with mom and reminisce at his life.

Quin Palmer Bio

















    Quin Palmer, 21, is a Junior at Texas State University majoring in digital media and mass communication.

      Quin is California born but Austin raised.  Upon completing his associates degree in General Studies at Austin Community College Quin moved to San Marcos to Complete his studies and has thrived -being placed on the Dean's list his first semester.
In his younger years he enjoyed ice skiing with his family . while focusing his time on school now he is looking forward to gaining an enlightening internship to expand his knowledge in the field of communications. During most of time off Quin can be found back in Austin , spending time relaxing with his friends, or taking backpacking trips in the many surrounding state-parks. 

John McCabe Bio

John McCabe is a senior at Texas State University majoring in Mass Communication with a focus on Public Relations. 

Currently 25 years old, John was born and raised in the small town of New Boston near Texarkana. In his childhood John went with his family on trips to Ireland and England on multiple occasions. John spent four years stationed in California in the United States Marine Corps before moving back to Texarkana and graduating from Texarkana Community College with an associate's degree in General Studies. John moved to San Marcos and started attending Texas State University in 2016 for the spring semester, and currently works for a local handyman company. John has plans to attend law school after graduating from Texas State. In his spare time John enjoys going fishing, listening to music and reading

Tyler Fontaine is a junior at Texas State University. He is majoring in Public Relations with a minor in business adminstation. He is from Tomball, Texas.  
Fontaine has many hobbies that include going to see live music, trying new food, traveling, and much more. His favorite hobby among them all is hiking which led to him working with Texas Parks and wildlife. He enjoys nature and taking pictures of the nice sceneries. Fontaine uses his creative side to edit images and videos taken from hiking trips.  
He was a social media contributor for San Marcos Hair Company. Fontaine’s overall career goal is to do in-house Public Relations for Tesla, or for a film distribution.

Michael Imo, 24, is a senior at Texas State University. He is currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Electronic Media and a minor in Music.

Born in Nigeria, Michael has made his way through Chicago, Houston, and now resides in San Marcos.

In his downtime, Michael likes to draw, dance, sing and make music. These talents are what he wants to fuse into his profession. With his creativity, Michael wants to use his degree to eventually become a graphic designer and bring art to the world, while incorporating music and other art forms into his designs.

SAN MARCOS, TEXAS - Jonathon wants to bring everyone of different backgrounds and languages together through journalism. 

Jonathon Salazar, 20, was born and raised in San Antonio. Currently residing in San Marcos, Jonathon is a junior at Texas State University with a major in News Journalism with a minor in Spanish. Before moving to Texas State University however, Jonathon was a freshman at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas.

Jonathon is bilingual with fluency in Spanish. He believes that there isn’t enough journalism for Spanish speakers who love American football so his goal is to work for a sports department that would allow him that opportunity. He has worked as an intern at the Univision Sports Department and dreams of working for the Somos Cowboys, the Spanish News Department of the Dallas Cowboys.



In his downtime, Jonathan likes to stay active, play video games, and hang with friends. He also loves to watch a lot of sports, obviously.

Allison Johnson is a junior attending Texas State University studying electronic media with a minor in business administration. Johnson is interested in a career in film and television’s creative production or radio production.

Johnson has done work at Texas State’s KTSW radio station with their wordpress website and production staff doing PSA and promotional announcements. When she isn’t working, Johnson likes to work on her writing skills by creating screenplays in her free time.

Johnson finds importance in incorporating comedy into the facts or news that she is presenting to her audience. She cites John Stewart and Quentin Tarantino as influences for her current and future work. Johnson states, “as long as I can write, I will be happy.”

Majoring in Journalism, with a minor in theatre, Addison McKissack aspires to one day make it to New York City and live her dream as a theatre writer.

Hailing from Plano, Texas, McKissack is the youngest of three girls and a sophomore at Texas State University. Before arriving at Texas State for the 2016 Fall season, McKissack attended Plano West Senior high school where she was voted thespian of the year by her peers and was invited to be a part of the International Thespian Society.

McKissack is a member and historian for the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

McKissack, is the proud parent of two Labradors, Sperry the white lab and Soco, a silver lab. When she’s not busy with school or being a dog mother, the sophomore enjoys attending various theatre shows and posting on her theatre blog. Alexzandra Jenkins' Bio

Alexzandra Jenkins is a twenty-one-year-old Public Relations major. After reconsidering a degree in business, she turned her focus towards an aspiration that allowed her creativity to be unveiled, Mass Communications. 


Alexzandra grew up in Kyle, Texas. Being an especially curly-haired girl by nature, she decided to apply to a hair modeling competition in Austin in 2016. To her delight, not only did she win, but the magazine titled Naturally Curly published her contest-entry article about hair acceptance. Choosing to attend Texas State University came with no hesitation to Alexzandra, who recognized the convenience of having a nearby social hub for her field, Austin, Texas. Ultimately, she hopes to one day land a career in Austin working for a magazine, specifically Naturally Curly.


Currently, when Alexzandra is not attending classes at Texas State, she enjoys working at a Children’s non-profit organization located in Buda. Because of this, she has become an expert at activities such as word searches and arts & crafts. In her free time she is an educated Neflix series watcher and appreciates the simple joy of cookies ‘n cream Ice cream.

Alex Bulko Bio

Alex Bulko is a Mass Communications major with minors in both Music and Japanese Studies and will be graduating from Texas State University in December of 2019.

Bulko has been a member of Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity for two years and was recently voted by his peers to be in charge of new member development as the Fraternity Education Officer. He was also the founding Vice President of the Filipino Student Association which is the largest Asian student organization at Texas State. Once he graduates he plans on going to Los Angeles in order to work for a television station or for his favorite basketball team, the Lakers.

When he is not being an older brother or spending time with his labradoodle Bandit, Bulko can be seen leading the Tenor I section of the Texas State University Singers.



Dylan Bradley - Bio

 Dylan Bradley is a 21-year-old Mass Communications and Public Relation senior at Texas State University, he is originally from Dallas, Texas.
Dylan has been a part of multiple organizations including the Public Relations Student Society of America, Lions Club and is a former member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. He has worked as an executive sales representative for Cutco, a company specializing in kitchen knives.
In this position, Dylan was able to help advance Cutco's typical crowd of customers using personal connections and networking skills. Dylan works tirelessly with his mother on behalf of the Make a Wish Foundation in Dallas and hopes to work for a major entertainment company after graduation.

Jhazmine Billups Bio

Jhazmine Billups is a 21-year-old senior at Texas State University studying Advertising. 

Jhazmine previously did social media work for the Pan African Action Committee which involves status updates and user trending experience. She also uses these skills to promote for the board of KTSW. 

Her goal for her advertising career is to minimize derogatory stereotypes as the
crutch for creativity and cleverly connect with her audience.

Traveling all around from Georgia to Texas, Jhazmine has enjoyed meeting new people with different perspective all of her life. Her life as a full time student and support from family in San Antonio has kept her driven to her career aspirations.

Anthony Flores is a senior attending Texas State University with the intent of earning a degree in journalism along with a minor in sports psychology.

With an associates degree in political science, Flores hopes to one day for ESPN. Flores has been writing for 6 months, and has written for Texas State's student run newspaper publication, The University Star, writing for the sports section.

Originally hailing from Mercedes, TX, Anthony has an older brother, and a father who owns a BBQ smokehouse. Anthony likes to go to the movies, is an amazing cook, and is an avid fan of Game of Thrones. As a fan of the San Antonio Spurs, when he's not watching sports, he can caught hanging out with his pet weiner/chihuahua, Ricky.

Haley Peters

Haley Peters is a 19-year-old sophomore with a major in advertising at Texas State University.

Peters graduated from Boerne High School in 2014. After graduation Haley decided she wanted to pursue her love for film and television.

Peters hopes to achieve a career in T.V. and film as producer for Lionsgate. Haley has worked as an intern in small film production and tends to frequent film meetings in and around Austin, Texas. Haley Peters' combination of experience, knowledge, and love for film is what sets her apart from future job competitors.

When Haley isn't finding obscure indie films or analyzing production technique she works at a local San Marcos restaurant as a waitress.

Alexandra Chapa

Alexandra Chapa aspires to work in a public relations department for a high-profile brand company.


Chapa attended Pharr-San-Juan-Alamo North High School, an early college high school in Pharr, Texas. While there Alexandra was a member of the varsity soccer team, as well as a hand-selected member of the Hispanic honor society.

After graduating in the top twenty percent of her class, Chapa used her communication skills developed from PSJA to obtain a job in the retail industry. Chapa was able to apply and be accepted to several universities, amongst them being Texas State.

Alexandra plans to continue her undergrad studies to combine with her experience to land her a job in PR.

Chapa enjoys working out and cooking in her free time; she has a life long dream of opening up a clothing boutique.
